There are many difficulties in structuring an online course, many more, in fact, than the typical in class course.  We can help you avoid many possible pitfalls typical online courses fall into by discussing various features of your course’s online structure.  We can even help you come up with unique structural aspects to your online course that would be a practical impossibility in an in class course, like non-linear pursuit of topics and allowing for students’ choice in the pursuit of topics.  We’re happy to help you in a range of structural topics, from simply composing an effective syllabus to constructing a truly student centered online learning environment.

Many of us have the knowhow when it comes to teaching our respective subjects, but we find ourselves lacking when it comes to dressing up our online courses such that they feel to students like professional learning environments, designed for a unique learning experience.  We can help you illuminate your course in many ways, including designing a unique visual theme for your course.  These themes help instructors express their interest in a subject visual, like we might in the classroom.  With your input, we can design a theme that fits you and your course perfectly.

The major drawback to online courses is that they tend to be developed and run like a textbook, read the notes and take the assessments.  Studies repeatedly show that this type of teaching does very little for student learning.  For added flair, some online courses even offer discussion boards or “live” lectures.  These features, while useful, are really just the tip of the iceberg in an online learning environment.  We can develop interactive learning objects for your courses that allow students to interact with the material they are expected to learn.  Rather than just expect students to learn from reading or listening to a lecture, our interactive learning objects allow students to get as close to hands on learning as possible in a purely online environment.
